Disciplined analysis, built under pressure.

I'm Mitchell Trexel — a Penn State finance graduate (Aug 2026), CFA Level I candidate, and student analyst on the $1.6M Intrieri Family Student Managed Fund. Before finance, I spent four years in the Marine Corps leading a mortar team, where precision and accountability weren't optional.

About

From Camp Pendleton to the trading floor

I took an unconventional path into finance. Four years as a Marine Corps mortar team leader taught me how to deliver accurate work on unforgiving deadlines — managing $300K+ in assets through a seven-month overseas deployment with zero losses, producing 200+ time-sensitive reports with 100% accuracy, and leading a four-person team where mistakes had real consequences.

Now I apply that same discipline to investment analysis. As a student analyst on Penn State's Intrieri Family Student Managed Fund, I build DCF and comparable company valuations, author research notes, and defend buy/sell/hold recommendations in front of fund leadership in a committee-driven process modeled on professional buy-side research.

I'm pursuing equity research, FP&A, and investment analyst roles where data-driven decision-making and disciplined execution create value. I sit for CFA Level I in August 2026.
